Bolt-On Recessed Swivel D-Ring - Galvanized - 6,000 lbs. BS
Recessed Swivel D-Ring - Bolt-On
Bolt-on D-rings are the perfect solution for adding more tie down anchors to your trailer or enclosed van, giving you the flexibility of placing anchor points exactly where you need them. The recessed design is an ideal option on trailer floors - they won't be in the way when not in use, and you can easily roll wheeled cargo over them.
Compatible with a variety of tie downs, including double J-hook ratchet straps, they can be used in a wide range of applications, but are most frequently used for equipment transport, including farm equipment, motorcycle, snow mobile, and ATV / UTV hauling.
6,000 lbs. Break Strength D-Ring Construction
This D-ring comes with a galvanized finish (also known as zinc-plating) to prevent corrosion, making it suitable for most exterior applications. It's well-suited even for enclosed trailers with moderate exposure to moisture or mud.
The ring is designed to stay centered in the trim collar for easy lift access.
How to Choose a D-Ring
The primary considerations when choosing a D-ring are mount type, environment, cargo weight, and what tie downs are being used:
- Mounting type is fairly simple - do you want a weld-on or bolt-on installation? This will generally depend on where you are installing the D-ring.
- For environment, choose stainless steel D-rings for marine applications. Otherwise, galvanized should offer acceptable corrosion-resistance.
- Cargo weight and tie down type go hand-in-hand - you will choose your tie downs based on what cargo you are hauling. According to the FMCSA CFR49 sections 393.102-104, anchor points must be at least as strong as the tie down they are attached to. In other words, you want the D-ring to have an equivalent or higher load rating than your tie down.
Note: Before purchase, double-check to make sure your tie down attachments are compatible with the D-ring dimensions.
Bolt-On Heavy-Duty D-Ring Features:
- D-ring folds conveniently away when not in use.
- Break Strength Dependent on Installation: Bolt-on D-rings are only as strong as the hardware they are mounted with - best practice is to bolt all the way through the material they are mounted to.
- Rotates 360°: Swivel design lets you attach straps from any direction for simpler load securement.
- Weep Hole Included: A weep hole in the bottom of the pan fitting allows for water drainage.
- Four Pre-Drilled Holes for Fast Installation.
- Versatile Applications: Commonly used on trailers that haul equipment, but can also be used for tents, pool covers, and more.
- Not Rated for Overhead Lifting.
Recessed D-Ring Installation
Our recessed D-rings come with pre-drilled holes for easy mounting, but because these are designed to recess into the floor, you will need to cut a hole to fit the plate flush. And since D-rings are only as strong as the hardware they are mounted with, best practice is to bolt all the way through the material they are mounted to to achieve the highest strength.
To find the hardware you need, look at the bolt hole size noted in our dimensions to make sure your bolt size is compatible. For length, if you are bolting through, the bolt should be long enough to get a fender washer and nuts on the back. Our team recommends either the use of Loctite on the threads or a locking nut.
Complete Your Tie-Down Setup
Along with a wide range of other styles of D-rings, US Cargo Control offers a full selection of trucking and transportation products, including tie down straps, tie down chain, and cargo nets.
